Volunteering for community events or outreach can include a variety of items. If you have an hour a year or an hour a day, we would appreciate you getting involved.
Community events can include dog walks, fundraisers, humane educational programs, public relations, humane education for school children, pet therapy and speaking at service clubs and other organizations.
Helping with outreach events includes off-site adoption efforts to place animals in meet 'n' greet situations on a monthly basis; working with breed rescue groups in placement and transportation of animals; help with public promotions and education that involves bringing animals to a specific site, and the promotion and recruitment of fostering families for Heartland Humane Society.
Some volunteer opportunities available are:
- Event Volunteers (Could be assisting at a meet and greet, HHS fundraisers, hanging fliers for an event, possibly even just doing deliveries...We are always in search of generous individuals to help with the success of our events)
- Photographers (Could be taking photographs of our adoptable pets or events)
- Videographers (Could be getting videos of our pets to put on our website, helping with fundraising videos or informative videos for training)
